we dont like Cricket, we love it…
That would sound strange ordinarily but as I pulled up to Phoebe’s parents house all became clear. Part of the lawn was now a mock up cricket crease with bat and ball at the ready. The marquee was up and looked fantastic and Phoebe’s grandfathers bright brilliant red Austin parked smartly on the drive. Phoebe and Simon’s day was shaping up to be special, everything had a massive family connection the hills in the distance from view was where Simon proposed, the local church, the Austin Tourer The village church was simply beautiful, small and unique and decorated with personal touches throughout. The drive from the garden to the church wasn’t far but the Austin probably made it feel a whole lot further.. Phoebe’s dad eye protection was most definitely appropriate. Garden weddings seem endless in their organisation and I’m always in awe when I arrive to find everything in its place but its the nature and attitude of the couples to adapt and roll with these tasks that create a relaxed and special atmosphere on the day, and this could be definitely said of Pheobe and Simon with their approach to this wedding. Fun, laughter and tears in the speeches followed by games of evening cricket, Dr Martin portraits and fish and chips to finish. ‘Four runs with a straight bat’..perfect. |
